Director of Public Prosecutions Victoria Charles-Clarke’s eyes were fixed on the faces of the jury as she relayed the history of "bad blood" that existed between Dave George and Jessie St Cyr of Gros Islet. The seven men and women seated in the jury box listened attentively to Charles-Clarke’s opening remarks. Twenty-one-year-old St Cyr, also known as ‘Dollar’, sat in the dock of the courtroom awaiting his fate.

Millet Man pleads guilty to manslaughter Friday, April 18, 2008 (761 reads)
Cleophas Charles sat in the dock of the 1st District Court on Monday staring inscrutably at the faces of the 14 people who would decide his fate as they filed into the jury box. The 37-year–old man of Caico, Millet was on trial for murder. The trim, dark, fine fettled man in a plaid, buttoned-up, short sleeved shirt and a pair of blue jeans, was accused of unlawfully killing 35-year-old Angel Leon known by his comrades as "Steve" or "Channel" also of Caico, at a Millet celebration on April 29, 2002.

The Burt Norville Trial Part I Friday, March 14, 2008 (1966 reads)
The circumstances surrounding the death of Wilberforce ‘Burt’ Norville made local headlines for weeks in 2003. The 24-year-old who belonged to a prominent local family was stabbed at a birthday party held at the Bonne Terre home of Omar Boyea on November 9. He later died at hospital. Since his death a young man has been on remand at Bordelais charged with his murder.
