Was that really Bruce Tucker? Wednesday, August 22, 2007 (3081 reads)
In three issues, the STAR had advertised its indisputably hottest story of the year with a simple white-on-black question: “Who Is Bruce Tucker?” It attracted not a single response. Meanwhile—according to reliable information—the man who best knew the answer to the newspaper’s query chose to remain tightlipped. Much later, too late, perhaps, he would say publicly that “the thing happened in 1997.

Rick Wayne says: At least six politicians know Bruce Tucker! Wednesday, August 15, 2007 (3835 reads)
It will no doubt come as a surprise that even STAR personnel were taken off guard by Rick Wayne’s front-page story in the weekend’s STAR. For now, anyway our publisher is hanging on to that particular secret and, we suspect, several others related to the Tucker story.

Is it remotely possible that one of this country’s most prominent political figures is also a convicted felon, a tagged fraudster who was also arrested more than once in the United States on suspicion of criminal behavior liable to at least five years imprisonment? And what if the government of St Lucia is privy to this shocking information, yet continues to aid and abet this suspect politician with an official silence loud enough to rattle official doors and windows as far away from St Lucia as California?

She oozed youthful optimism as she told me about her plans to put St Lucia on the map. I was not surprised when I learned later than Lisa was filming a video for her local hit Hold Me Close—which had also enjoyed some serious airplay in Trinidad and Tobago.

It is unclear what prompted the surprise attack but there could be no denying the targets: Ausbert d’Auvergne and ailing Prime Minister John Compton. Pressing the buttons that dropped the cluster bombs on what some have described as “soft targets”—despite their ostensible powerhouse positions in the government—was none other than MP Rufus Bousquet, scarred but undeniably a survivor of previous encounters of the current kind.
